Sixenhof Local Museum: Spread over 21 rooms on 3 floors, it offers insight into the traditional life and work in Tyrol.
About a 20-minute walk (toward Achensee)! More information: www.sixenhof.at -
Annakircherl: This chapel is the landmark of Achenkirch and “crowns” a small hill near the former largest Urhof in the Achental, the “Dolnhof.”
About a 30-minute walk! -
Steinöl Vitalberg: For more than 100 years, the Albrecht family from Pertisau has been producing Tyrolean stone oil at Lake Achensee. The Vitalberg visitor center provides information on the origin, significance, and various applications of Tyrolean stone oil products.
More information: www.steinoel.at -
St. Notburgakirche and Museum: One of the most beautiful Baroque churches in Tyrol. At the end of the 9th century, a small church was built here and dedicated to St. Notburga. The Notburga Museum, located directly behind the church, is the only museum in Austria devoted to a saintly woman.
More information: www.pfarre-eben.at -
Achensee Museum World: A small museum village in Maurach where almost-forgotten local customs, traditions, and the way of life of the Achental people can be rediscovered.
More information: www.achenseer-museumswelt.at -
Achensee Steam Cog Railway: Built more than 118 years ago, this steam cog railway is still an authentic witness to the golden era of steam trains. Puffing and hissing, the steam locomotives travel the 6.78 km route from Jenbach to Seespitz on Lake Achensee at an altitude of 930 m.
